Take I-85 to Exit 8 in North Carolina (State Hwy 161)Turn east off the Exit Ramp. (Left if coming off Southbound, Right if coming Northbound) Travel 161 for approximately 5 (five) miles. Entrance to the park is on the right just after crossing the South Carolina State Line.
 
The group camp sites are the second paved left turn, just past the Living History Farm; The road will fork, and signs will point you to the camps. Camp York (camp with Healer's Guild row) is to the right, and Camp Cherokee (heated camp) is to the left.


King's Mountain has recently enacted a rule where the gates to camp Cherokee and Camp York must be closed and locked after 9PM. If you plan on arriving at site after this time, they may be closed, but we will come and reopen them ASAP. If at all possible, try to call someone that is getting to site ahead of you and ask for the lock combination.
     
Cheraw State Park
 
 

From Atlanta:

Take I-20 East all the way past Columbia.

Approximately 20 miles past Columbia, take exit #92 for US HWY 601 North / Camden, SC.

This will take you (7.5 mi.) through Camden SC to merge with US HWY 1 North. Go north on US HWY 1 North for about 48-50 miles to Cheraw SC.

As you get to Cheraw SC you will see a sign for US HWY 1 and US HWY 52 to merge together. AT THIS MERGE, make the right turn onto US HWY 52 South. The main entrance to the park is about 1 mile down on the right side.

The entrance to the camp site entrance is about 500 feet PAST the main entrance on the right. When you turn right onto the dirt road the first right is the entrance to Camp Juniper (there will be signs to follow). If you continue straight the second gate you see is the entrance to Camp Forest (there will be signs in August).

 

    

From Charlotte:

Take US HWY 74 East from Charlotte and go about 50 miles to US HWY 52 South.

Follow US HWY 52 South until you get to Cheraw SC. In Cheraw US HWY 52 South and US HWY 1 South will split apart just south of Cheraw (2-3 miles south of Cheraw).

At this fork in the road, Take US HWY 52 South for the 1 mile to the Main park entrance.  The entrance to the camp site entrance is about 500 feet PAST the main entrance on the right.
